"Why design?" - The first question that many people would pause and ponder about after finding out that I'm a Geography graduate. Well, the answers are passion and the sense of fulfilment I get for every completed design.
From designing products for a fundraising initiative to designing a marketing brochure as part of a recruitment drive, I landed myself in opportunities to be a Design Executive at Asia Focus Group and subsequently a Project Executive in website development at Verz Design.
As a Project Executive, the everyday was more focused on project statuses, planning and prioritisation as well as meeting multiple projects' timelines. Like a constant alarm ringing every morning, questions such as - "how can these designs be further improved to meet the needs of my clients?", "am I effectively solving my client's needs?", "are there any other recommendations I can provide to my clients to elevate their website prior to the development phase?" - started sounding, yet were often left unanswered. With that, I took the leap of faith to join the UXDI Course at General Assembly. Through more in-depth learning of questioning the users needs and curating solutions, I took on a new found perspective as a UX Designer and those questions were answered ☺.
All work and no relaxation is no fun. I enjoy brush lettering during my free time while sipping on a cup of bubble tea (without pearls)! Not only that, binge watching YouTube videos is also a necessity during my free time.
